The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
The beginning of the Blog…
As I was searching through the Bible, learning more and more about Jesus, I began to understand concepts and precepts that were difficult for me to understand previously. There was a time in my life I would read the Word, and it made absolutely no sense. I began to embrace the relationship with Jesus, and hidden things were no longer covered up.
I love to teach in general. If a person can’t understand how I explain a subject matter, my immediate inclination is to find several new ways to explain things until a person understands. This is brought up because, in the Word of God, I have begun to see small patterns within the events that took place. To truly be able to have life broken down and defined, it became plain to me the difference between walking by faith and by sight.
Broken down and defined?
One of the biggest reasons we as Christians fail to see Jesus in our everyday life is our inability to define our lives based on the Word of God. Jesus is the Word of God. It’s hard to see how much we need Jesus in our lives if we are not willing to regard and believe what he says as truth. Jesus said the greatest command is to love God with all our heart, soul, and strength. The second is just as great, which is to love one another the way we love ourselves.
The more we understand the parameters with which we have been given to operate, we can gain a greater sense of our how and why in life. All of a sudden, God doesn’t seem as far as we initially thought. Our journey gets way more interesting this way.
What do you hope to gain with the Christ Seekers Blog?
A greater awareness of how much we truly need Jesus. Jesus said he is alpha and omega. In English, that means he is A – Z and everything in between. Think about the English alphabet of 26 letters. We can not think outside of those 26 letters. How many libraries worth of information have been constructed based on these letters? At the heart of every book, paper, thesis, and idea are constructed with a combination of just 26 letters. Jesus is saying every aspect of creation, our nations, our lives, our families, and our situations is constructed with Jesus as the foundation. In other words, he is our 26 letters. Everything points back to Jesus Christ. If we understand who Jesus is and who we are in him, then it will become natural to seek him in everything.
What is your favorite verse in the Bible?
I really don’t have a favorite; however, the verse that has been at the forefront of my mind is Ezekiel 36:26-27: I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
My prayer…
Father God, King Jesus, Holy Spirit, make your home with those of us you have called. You deserve all the Glory, Honor, and Praise. Open our eyes and our ears. Touch our hearts, lips, and mind in ways that allow us to see our lives the way you do. Thank you for upholding us and lifting us up through all our trials and tribulations; Lord, in all that you have brought us through, you have always been faithful.
Help us to be better witnesses of your Glory, your Grace, your Mercy, your unfailing love. May everyone who comes across this blog be touched in a way that multiplies your majesty through the generations. Our desire, O God, is for you to use us to reach our generation.
King Jesus, you reign, and we thank you for saving us. You truly did not have to, but you chose to because you love us, and you love our Father. Help us, Lord Jesus, to express your love in a greater way to those you place before us. No matter the cost. We offer this blog to you.
It is in your mighty name Jesus I pray,
Amen
