God is the Father of Heavenly Lights. In him there is no darkness at all. No sin, no fault, no hurt, no pain at all. He’s unique in that he needs nothing outside himself to sustain himself. There is two very specific things that God does not do. God does not change his character, and he does not lie.

God is love. His desire is for all his creation to give him Glory because there is nothing anywhere, at anytime, in anyway, like him. He is unique and set apart. Another way to say it, He is Holy.

God created us through Jesus, for Jesus so that God could reconcile all creation with himself. God didn’t create anything or anyone to mock or bash them. Eternal Life originates from God and was promised before time began, to those who love Jesus.

so what happened?

Sin entered the picture. Sin is divisive in nature. Sin separates us from life and guarantees death. God is perfect in every single way. Sin can not dwell in his presence. God’s Justice dictates if something is wrong, fix it. Let’s phrase this in another way. Something has to be done about sin otherwise sin would exist forever. The moment a choice is made outside of what God says, sin enters the picture and it stains us. There is only one way to set things right. Corrective action must take place to right the wrong.

This is how we are introduced to
God’s Wrath.

Can you imagine living forever, struggling with sin?

The best way I know how to explain God’s Wrath as easy as possible is to describe a punishment. A punishment is an infliction or imposition of a penalty as retribution or vengeance for an offense. For example, if a child goes outside what their parents tell them, there is generally consequences for the child’s actions. The punishment is designed to fit the crime in hopes that the child will not sin again.

Though we are God’s creation, the original sin of Adam and Eve introduced humanity to what is called a sin nature. That means we naturally gravitate towards decisions that separate us from God. God’s justice means that his wrath will come after each and every sin. Can you imagine living forever struggling with sin? Therefore sin must be addressed while we are carnal so that sin doesn’t follow us into eternity. There is no getting around it. The ability to choose to stay divided from a perfect God will not remain forever. What can a perfect God do to satisfy his justice without destroying humanity? This is were Jesus comes in.

God loves us but hates sin.

As children of God we are allowed to hate sin! Why? We can hate sin because God hates sin. The Perfect Father sent his Perfect Son as a substitute for imperfect us. But wait, there’s more. Jesus volunteered for the job because all he wants to do is please his Father. Our Father loves us a lot. He was very pleased to see the willingness in Jesus. That’s why he gave the OK to send his son into the world. The Father’s plan was for Jesus to take on the wrath that was meant for us and credit to us the perfect life Jesus lived on earth so that sin is no longer a determining factor of where we spend eternity. That is why he gave Jesus the seat at his right hand which is far above anything and everything seen and unseen in all creation.

Mercy

Jesus brought everything together on the cross as a willing sacrifice. He took the cup of wrath, taking the punishment we were supposed to take. It was a criminals death. A shameful death. He didn’t do a thing to deserve death yet because he loves our Father, and he loves us, he obediently gave up his life. Jesus took his last breath having done everything the Father required of him which includes forgiving our sins.

Grace…

His death is not where it stops though, because death could not hold him down. Three days after he died, he rose again! Jesus is resurrected and lives again. Now he sits at the right hand of the Father interceding on our behalf to help us, and provide for us to get the mission done until he returns for the last time.

That is … Good News!

The Good News is that Jesus beat sin, death, and all works of evil! He trusted and obeyed our Father fully going into death. Death could not hold him down and he is now risen as the first of us all to appear in Glory. Jesus took our penalty and said we’re good, as long as we understand he is the Risen King. No one can get to the Father on their own accord except through him. If we believe this to be true, then it should become an easy decision to tell God everyday, I give the control over my life to you.

The battle over our souls.

It takes all eternity to learn how amazing our God is. The good thing is, eternity with God will be in an environment where there is no more hurt, pain, or death. We will always be at our best, and we will constantly dwell with God. This is huge when we realize God didn’t HAVE to do any of this. He chose to because he loves us. The little bit mentioned is just a small piece of what the Bible says we have in store for us. However bear in mind, the reason God didn’t take us to Heaven when we accepted Jesus in our hearts is because we still have a divine assignment to fulfill while we are still on this earth. Please see Global Assignment, (*Coming Soon*).

I realize Jesus is King. How do I accept him into my heart?

Pray this prayer.

Lord Jesus,

I know that I am a sinner. There is nothing I can do on my own to save myself. Lord I believe that you can save me. I confess my sins to you and ask that you forgive me. I believe you died on the cross for me and took my sin to the grave but also believe that you beat death and rose again three days later opening the way to heaven. Lord you didn’t have to but you gave me mercy. I accept that you love me and I ask you that you give me grace.

If you have just prayed this prayer for the first time, let me be the first to say,

‘Welcome to the Family’.

Praise be to God in the Highest! We pray that he blesses you in all he has for you.
